Beginner’s Yoga will be held from 4-5 p.m. Feb. 20 with Kiyomi Falcon. Yoga has both preventive and therapeutic benefits. It increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress patterns and muscle strain, relaxes mind and body, centers attention, sharpens concentration and frees the spirit.
Cancer Support Group for Women will meet from 12:30-2 p.m. Feb. 21. Whether a survivor, currently in treatment, recently diagnosed, or coping with the effects of cancer on a loved one, join this group to discover the power of healing through connection with others who share a common bond.
Writers’ Read will be from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 22. The community can attend this special event as Tutu’s House presents the Writers’ Support Group’s 8th Annual Open House. This year the community will honor the group’s friend and founder, John Holland, who provided inspired leadership and gave birth to this program in 2008. He is deeply missed since his recent passing at age 89. Honor and celebrate his life and writings by listening to some of his best works and those of the writers he stimulated and influenced, while enjoying light pupus and beverages during this potluck gathering.
Family Science Night at Earl’s Garage will be held at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23, hosted by Katherine DuBose-Oliver. Family members of all ages will work together and spend time exploring hands-on activities. Everything is provided, including food and supplies. Registration is required, and space is limited.
