Island Spirit celebrates ‘Meditation Month’
The Island Spirit Healing Center and Wellness spa will celebrate “Meditation Month” with special events in September.
Kathryn Miller will present a two-day Raja Yoga-style meditation workshop from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 14 and 15, by donation.
The spa will also celebrate World Peace Meditation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15.
Hooponopono workshops, with Jon Lovgren, are planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Sept. 20. Participants will learn to forgive themselves and others using ancient and modern techniques. Suggested donation is $25.
Meditation circles meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday. There is no cost to attend.

Kailua-Kona Seniors meeting Wednesday
The Kailua-Kona Seniors meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona. A regular business meeting is planned, followed by a talk story session.

Cancer support group meets Thursday
Cancer support group You’ll Never Walk Alone meets from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Cancer survivors and co-survivors are invited to attend the group’s free meetings held the first and third Thursday of the month. Light refreshments are served.

Line dancing classes start up Thursday
The next eight-week session of line dancing classes begins Thursday at the Kona United Methodist Church on Palani Road. Line Dancing at the beginner level is from 6 to 7 p.m. and for the more experienced from 7 to 8 p.m. The session cost is $35 for one class or $49 for both hours. One night drop-in fee is $7 for one class, $9 for both. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, preferably no brand-new athletic shoes.
