HILO — Kamehameha-Hawaii baseball scored four runs at the top of the seventh, which was enough to win Tuesday afternoon’s matchup against east-side rival Waiakea by a score of 4-2 in Hilo town. KSH improved to 6-0-1 on the year, while Waiakea fell to 4-2-1.

The game served as a rematch from the March 24 matchup, in which the two schools tied 0-0 in Kea‘au.

KSH’s four-run second inning was started by second baseman Justin Kubojiri, who drew a walk that scored a run. With the bases loaded, first baseman Noah Palea launched a three-run triple to go up 4-0 — his second triple of 2025. He finished with a game-high three RBI.

Designated hitter Kanai Nettrour led KSH with two hits, followed by Kubojiri, Palea, third baseman Braden Gomes, infielder Shiloh Santos and right fielder Kaikoa Nobriga making up the rest of the team’s seven hits.

Santos and Palea also pitched for KSH, combining for three allowed hits, two runs and two strikeouts. Santos currently leads the team in innings pitched (18.2), wins (three) and strikeouts (15).

Waiakea third baseman Jesse Inouye led his team with two hits, followed by Boston Kobayashi with one. Shortstop Ivor Brooks also notched an RBI.

Hurley Soong and Logan Doran were on the mound for Waiakea.

In 2025, KSH has out-scored opponents 55-9. The team will next play Kea‘au on Tuesday at home.

Waiakea looks to get back on track with its next matchup against the Vikings on Wednesday in Hilo town.
