KEA‘AU — Kamehamha Schools-Hawai‘i girls soccer began its two-match homestand on Friday, routing the visiting Honoka‘a Dragons 7-0.
Kahalia Huddleston, the Lady Warriors second-leading scorer this season, led all scorers with three goals, securing a hat trick. Teammate Lily Kay-Wong added two goals, followed by Rhacelyn Respicio and Inalei Haunga with one each.
Winners of five consecutive, KSH improved to 5-1-1 overall on the season, out-scoring opponents 32-3. The Lady Warriors return to the pitch at 3 p.m. this afternoon against Ka‘u at home. The Lady Dragons (0-5-1) will try to redeem themselves against Parker at 3 p.m. this afternoon in Waimea.
Honoka‘a 5, MLCA 1
Honoka‘a boys soccer had a successful road trip to Kona town Friday, routing the hosting Makua Lani Christian Academy Lions 5-1 to earn its first win of the season.
For the Dragons, Kupa‘a Langan, Molokai Meister and Quade Viernes all scored. The paper was unable to locate MLCA’s lone scorer.
Now at 1-5-0 on the year, Honoka‘a will look to build off its new momentum with its next match against Kealakehe at 2 p.m. Thursday at home.
The Lions fell to 1-6-0 overall, and will try to bounce back against Kea‘au at 3 p.m. Saturday in Kona town.
HPA 9, Kealakehe 0
HPA girls soccer travelled south to the Kona proper to take on the hosting Kealakehe Waveriders on Saturday afternoon at Waverider Stadium. Ka Makani made quick work of the Lady Waveriders, winning 9-0.
HPA had five different goal scorers — Madie Buczyna in the second and 15th minute, Kirra Geesey in the seventh and 44th minute, Nohea Lansdale in the 30th and 51st minute, Kekai Lansdale in the 33rd and 37th minute and Jada Fitz Gerlad in the 47th minute.
Ka Makani moved to 4-2-0 overall on the year, bouncing back from a Dec. 2o, 2024 loss to KSH. HPA’s next test will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Waiakea at Hawaii Preparatory Academy.
Kealakehe moved down to 1-3-0 in 2024-25.
The Lady Waveriders will seek redemption at 4 p.m. this afternoon against Hilo at Waverider Stadium.
