Tomie Kohashi
Tomie Kohashi, 93, of Hilo, died Nov. 6 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a clerk for the county Board of Water Supply and enjoyed tending to her flowers and working in her yard, watching Hallmark shows, playing Hanafuda cards, eating lunch with friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by son, Curtis (Susan) Kohashi of Hilo; daughter, Michelle (Galen) Mizuguchi of Hilo; brother, Grant (Lillian) Tetsuka of Sparks, Nev.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Rosevelinda “Linda” Justo Badua, 58, of Keaau died Oct. 3 at home. Born in San Pablo, San Nicolas, Philippines, she was a factory worker for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp. and nursery worker for Puna Certified and Winning Orchids.
