Edward Daniel Staniec Jr., 85, of Waimea died Oct. 13 at home. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he was a self-employed public accountant and member of Mana Christian Ohana, Waimea Lions Club and the Exchange Club. Kimiko Takamine, 92, of Honokaa died Oct. 12 at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. Born in Haina, Honokaa, she was a homemaker, widow of longtime state legislator Yoshito Takamine and member of Honokaa Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and its Buddhist Women’s Association, Hui Uruma and Kukuihaele Japanese Club.
