The body of a man with “fatal injuries” was found Friday afternoon in a residence in the 92-9000 block of Tiki Lane in the Hawaii Ocean View Estates subdivision, according to police.
Around 1:10 p.m., Ka‘u patrol officers responded to the residence on Tiki Lane regarding a report of a deceased man.
Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of a Caucasian man believed to be in his 50s who had sustained a fatal injury. A police press release did not provide specifics about the injury.
Police detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. After conducting their preliminary investigation, it was believed that the injuries were suspicious in nature and not accidental.
Police have initiated a second-degree murder investigation in this case.
Efforts are being made to identify the victim, who has not yet been positively identified.
