Antoinette “Toni” “Tonette” Doreen Vierra Ha Castillo, 71, of Keaau died Aug. 9 at Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Pahala, she was a 1972 graduate of Hilo High School, usher at the Palace Theater, worked at the Hawaii Tribune-Herald for 18 years, was a foster parent for the Casey Family Program and member of Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 15) at Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Graveside committal service 11 a.m. Monday (Sept. 16) at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. John Correa Silva, 95, of Ookala, died Aug. 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired U.S. Army staff sergeant who served during the Korean War and Vietnam era, loved yardwork and growing orchids and anthuriums. Graveside urn committal service 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, 45-349 Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe, Oahu. Casual attire. Dolores “Dee” Susan Arurang, 73, of Hilo died Sept. 7 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a cook for K’s Drive-In and the former Dick’s Coffee House. No services. Inez Hope Schultz
Inez Hope Schultz, 78, of Waikoloa died Aug. 7 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Los Angeles, she dedicated her life to helping others, both professionally as a behavior therapist at Waikoloa School and later at North Hawaii Hospice for bereavement support. She enjoyed crafting, making jewelry, snorkeling, traveling and playing mahjong. Donations to North Hawaii Hospice appreciated. Private services to be held at a later date. Survived by husband Greg Schultz; daughters, Debra Washburn and Cynthia Jones; stepchildren Laurel White and Mark Schultz; granddaughters Amanda Tran, Brittany Washburn and Courtney Washburn; and great-grandchild Mason Tran.
