Hiroko S. Hubbard

Hiroko S. Hubbard, 90, of Hilo died July 22 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Yokohama, Japan, she was a bilingual secretary in Japan, sales associate at Smartwear, former president of the Hilo Woman’s Club, assisted in expansion of Lyman House Museum and Mission House and was active in Eastern Star and ballroom dancing. Private services held. Survived by sons, Dwight Elmer Hubbard of Honolulu and Kirk Hubbard III of Waikoloa; sisters, Chika Shoji, Hidemi Ogawa and Yoshiko Endo; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Edna Tokuuke

Edna Tokuuke, 101, of Hilo died July 4 at home. Born in Halaula, North Kohala, she was the retired co-owner of Paul’s Enterprises Ltd. and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Wilfred (Sue) Tokuuke and Dale (Sandra) Tokuuke of Hilo; daughters, Amy (Allan) Kuwaye and Jean Madden of Hilo; sisters, Michie Tokuuke of Hilo, Evelyn Tsubakihara of Kauai, Mona Toshi of Honolulu and Ellen Kobayashi of Oregon; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Rosalina Peneyra Rosario

Rosalina Peneyra Rosario, 84, of Pahala and Hilo died July 30 at her Hilo home. Born in San Juan (Lapog), Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a server/cashier at the former Punaluu Village Restaurant, Green Sands Fountain, Volcano Country Club and Volcano House, member of Pahala Holy Rosary Church and Pahala Senior Citizens. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Pahala Holy Rosary Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow. Survived by sons, Robert (Sherlene) Rosario of Pahala and Albert (Sabrina) Rosario of Kona; daughter, Rhondalyn (Van) Dalere of Hilo; sisters, Remigia Gascon of Pahala and Norma (Lydia) Gascon of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Lolita Peneyra of Philippines. 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Paul Jayson Pang

Paul Jayson Pang, 76, of Hilo and Sugarloaf, Calif., died Aug. 23 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in California, he was a fiber optic technician and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Private services. Richard Takeo Igawa

Richard Takeo Igawa, 88, of Hilo died Aug 16. Born in Hilo, he was a retired salesman, buyer and warehouse manager for Suisan Co. Duncan Ferguson Dempster, 87, of Waimea died June 16 at home. He had careers in the U.S. Navy and at Bank of Hawaii, sang with the Waimea Community Chorus and enjoyed woodworking and writing. Robert Jule Dehmer, 94, of Captain Cook died May 18 at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Newark, N.J., he was a mechanic for Royal Hawaiian Air Service and member of Screen Actors Guild. Inurnment 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Survived by sons, Walter “Kimo” (Debrah) Dehmer of Honaunau, Lynn (Sunny) Dehmer of Kukuihaele, Robert Dehmer of Ka‘u and Ricky Dehmer of Hilo; daughter. Samson Yoshio Hamamoto, 87, of Hilo died July 28 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center.
