Hiroko S. Hubbard, 90, of Hilo died July 22 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Yokohama, Japan, she was a bilingual secretary in Japan, sales associate at Smartwear, former president of the Hilo Woman’s Club, assisted in expansion of Lyman House Museum and Mission House and was active in Eastern Star and ballroom dancing. Private services held. Survived by sons, Dwight Elmer Hubbard of Honolulu and Kirk Hubbard III of Waikoloa; sisters, Chika Shoji, Hidemi Ogawa and Yoshiko Endo; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Edna Tokuuke, 101, of Hilo died July 4 at home. Born in Halaula, North Kohala, she was the retired co-owner of Paul’s Enterprises Ltd. and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Rosalina Peneyra Rosario, 84, of Pahala and Hilo died July 30 at her Hilo home. Born in San Juan (Lapog), Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a server/cashier at the former Punaluu Village Restaurant, Green Sands Fountain, Volcano Country Club and Volcano House, member of Pahala Holy Rosary Church and Pahala Senior Citizens.
