David Kilbourne Reed

David Kilbourne Reed, 74, of Hilo died Aug. 2 at home. Born in Danville, Pa., he was publisher and owner of Petroglyph Press, co-founder of Basically Books, a designer and creator of books, past president of Hilo Downtown Improvement Association, committee member of Destination Hilo and past chairman of Hawaii Redevelopment Agency. Celebration of life 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Wailoa State Park Pavilion No. 3. Survived by wife, Christine Reed of Hilo; 0son Alexander (Diana Yang) Reed of Maui; daughter, Stacey Reed of Hilo, brother, Stephen (Jan) Reed of Florida, sister, Judy Reed Beeman of Texas, a grandson and a nephew. Shelby Ann Pawasarat

Shelby Ann Pawasarat, 68, of Ocean View died Aug. 4 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in California, she was a retail store clerk and member of the Republican Party and AARP. Private services. Rhonda Hope Guerpo

Rhonda Hope Guerpo, 67, of Keaau, formerly of Honokaa, died July 18 at home. Born in Honokaa, she was retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Charles “Charlie” Andrew England

Charles “Charlie” Andrew England, 56, of Keaau died July 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Hawaii Army National Guard sergeant first class and helicopter mechanic and U.S. Army Afghanistan War veteran. Kiyoko Nakamoto, 83, of Hilo died July 26 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired salesclerk at the former Men’s Shop and member of Konko Mission of Hilo. Private services held. Leonida “Nida” Echave Cumlat, 85, of Papaikou died Aug. 3 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. she was a retired Candy Department factory worker for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Robert “Bobby” Vasco Moniz

Robert “Bobby” Vasco Moniz, 91, of Kapaau died on July 21 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired bell captain at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, reserve police officer and worked for Slim Holt; Grayline, Waiaka Lodge, Kona Inn and King Kamehameha Hotel, security at Halii Kai and Kukio and member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church and numerous motorcycle clubs. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery. Casual elegant attire.
