Natividad “Naty” Macanas Pinzon, 90, of Pepeekeo died July 20 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired flower packer for the former Orchids of Hawaii and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 8) at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Reuben (Shirley) Pinzon of Fort Worth, Texas, and Edward (Delsey) Pinzon of Pepeekeo; brothers, Juan Macanas of Pepeekeo and Edmando (Mavis) Mangibin of Hilo; sisters, Francisca Pajarillo of Honolulu and Genoveva Gomez of Hilo; sister-in-law, Georgeanna Macanas of Pepeekeo; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Mario Thomas Cordero Jr.

Mario Thomas Cordero Jr., 62, of Hilo died July 24 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired self-employed window covering installer, member Glad Tidings Church in Hilo and Oasis Church in Kona and was the Hilo High School AYSO boys’ soccer coach. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 8) at Glad Tidings Church, 116 Kapiolani St. Memorial services at 6 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Claire E. Lorenzo Ramos Jr., 72, of Hilo died July 6 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Koga Construction and member of Waiakea Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Betty Joan Leilani Benevides, 86, of Hilo died July 18 at Life Care Center of Hilo.
