Sam Asghari is opening up about his divorce from Britney Spears, nearly a year after the pair closed the book on their 14-month marriage.

The 30-year-old actor and model, who filed for divorce from the pop star in mid-August 2023, told Us Weekly Wednesday that his dog is the only girl in his life these days.

“Right now, I’m dating a very high-maintenance girl and, you know, I have to get her nails done and take her to the dog park and feed her good food and get her really nice treats. That is what I’m focused on at the moment,” he joked. “[A] career is something that’s going to require 100% of your time, and I’m really putting all that effort and putting all of my mindset toward acting … [and] producing.”

Noting his ambitions are “always the opposite of my personality,” the fitness trainer said, “That’s gonna require a lot of time, so I’m not really focusing on [dating] at the moment.”

The “Stronger” singer, 42, and Asghari met in October 2016 — when she was knee-deep in her more than decadelong conservatorship, which was officially terminated in November 2021. They wed in June 2022 before calling it quits last summer. The divorce, her third, was settled this May.

The interview was published one day after Spears confirmed that her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which hit shelves last October, will get the biopic treatment.

In the book, Spears referred to Asghari as a “gift from God,” which Asghari later said “made me smile.”

“I’m freaking proud of her,” he told paparazzi in October. “And I hope she takes over the world.”

Noting that “people grow apart and people move on,” Asghari told People the relationship was “a blessing.”
