Kona pool to close for repairs starting Aug. 10

The Kona Community Aquatic Center will be closed starting at 3 p.m. on Aug. 10 for repairs and maintenance, according to the Department of Parks and Recreation.

During the closure, Parks and Rec staff will replace the sidewall grates on the pool’s movable bulkhead and perform additional maintenance tasks. This work will require draining all water from the pool basin as well as balancing the water chemistry following refilling.

The pool is expected to reopen Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The Parks and Rec staff thanks the Friends of the Kona Community Aquatic Center for its collaboration on this project and the public for its patience as these improvement are made.
