Hatsue Carvalho, 100, of Hilo died on June 28 at home. Born in Kapoho, she was a kitchen helper for the former Hilo Hospital and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Visitation from 5-6 p.m. Thursday (July 25) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel with prayer service to follow at 6 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Sheila (Larry) Kelly of Kona, Gerri Lynn (Andrew) Kahili of Hilo, Gail (Rayce) Bento of Hilo; sisters, Chiyoko Okiuye of Hilo, Shizue Sanekane of Pahoa; sisters-in-law, Charlene Carvalho of Hilo, Barbara DeMello of Hilo; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Kikuno Kay Kusano

Kikuno Kay Kusano, 94, of Hilo, died June 28 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired baker with Lanky’s Pastries and a sewing instructor at Kamana Senior Center. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Thursday (July 25) at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by sons, Kerry Kusano and Cyrus Kusano of Hilo; sister, Sumiko Kanda of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, one great granddaughter, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Okinu Matsuoka

Okinu Matsuoka, 100, of Pepeekeo died June 27 at home. Born in Hiroshima, Japan, she was a homemaker and member of Honomu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Private services held. No koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Harold (Alice) Matsuoka of Kirkland, Wash., and Leland (Charlene) Matsuoka of Pepeekeo; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Ricky Kealoha Pa, Jr., 53, of Honolulu and Davenport, Iowa, died May 4 in Hilo. Gregg Ramsey Stanton

Gregg Ramsey Stanton, 76, of Honokaa, died July 11 at home.
