Sylvia Ann Lindinha, 83, of Hilo, died May 21 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Olaa, she was a retired pricing accuracy supervisor for the former Hilo J.C. Penney and member of Connect Point Church. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday (July 17) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by son, Daren (Natalie) Lindinha of Hilo; sister, Marilyn Hall of Vancouver, Wash.; sister-in-law, JoAnne Araujo of Hilo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Bernard Largo Madrona

Bernard Largo Madrona, 76, of Hilo died on Friday, June 14 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he worked for Pearl Harbor Shipyard, was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and the Veterans of Foreigh Wars. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Aloha attire. Survived by wife, Fern Madrona; daughter, Maile Madrona; sisters, Catherine Salgado, Marcia (Frank) Pineda and Irene Roberts; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews. Shannon Kehaulani Quintal, 46, of Hilo died June 17 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a former dental hygienist and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Wednesday (July 17) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Aloha attire. Survived by husband, Phillip Quintal of Hilo; sons, Logan Quintal and Dylan James Quintal of Hilo; daughters, Shanasty Mahi-Lyons and Raegan McKenna Quintal of Hilo; brothers, Sean Kevin Keikialii (Malia) Lyons of Mountain View and Shane Christopher K. Thesla “Tess” Kaleialoha Spencer, 56, of Pepeekeo, HI died June 21 at home. Born in Kealakekua, she was a Human Resources specialist at Hawaii Island Community Health Center, formerly Bay Clinic. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Mana Christian ‘Ohana in Kahilu Town Hall, 67-1182 Lindsey Rd. in Waimea. Celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Lunch to follow.
