To kick off the Little League District 4 Tournaments, the West Side Hawaii Little League Majors All-Stars Team in the 10-11-12s division will be playing this weekend — starting Friday and going through Monday. The team will be having Shaka Tacoz on Friday and Saturday, and Da Braddahz Grindz will be served Sunday. Concessions will be held from both 10 a.m to finish. All money raised will be for any travel funds after districts for all divisions. This particular divisional team has the chance to make it to Williamsport, Penn. for the Little League World Series in August.
The 8-9-10s Minors All-Star Team will be playing in its district tournament from June 28 to July 1 at Pualani Park, with a great chance to advance to the state tournament on Oahu later this summer. The “From Big Island (FBI)” 7v7 youth football team will host a concession for the crowd during these dates. All proceeds will go towards FBI’s future travel funds.
The 50s/70s All-Star Team (12-13s division) played in the league’s 50/70s Tournament from June 7 through June 10. The squad made it to the championship against Hilo Little League. The Hilo team won the tournament, and will next advance to its state tournament, which will be held from June 28-30 in Kona at Old Airport — hosting teams from Oahu and Maui.
Additionally, the 12-13-14s division team made it to its districts championship game this past Monday against Hilo Little League at Walter Victor Complex on the leeward side. It placed No. 2 in the district with a final score of 7-6 in extra innings.
