Archie Spencer Kaaua Jr.

Archie Spencer Kaaua Jr., 91, of Waimea, died May 23 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired safety inspector for Chevron Oil refinery, U.S. Army Korean War veteran, third-generation paniolo from Waimea, and waterman who was part of several Molokai Hoe championship canoe teams. Private services at a later date. Survived by sister, Lani; children, Alika and Maka; a grandson. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.

Alice Felisa Texeira

Alice Felisa Texeira, 94, of Holualoa died May 11 in Kealakekua. Born in Holualoa, Hawai’i. She was a seamstress, coffee farmer, gardener, and crafter, including lauhala weaving. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Survived by sons. Anthony (Sylvia) Texeira of Puuanahulu and Randall Texeira of Holualoa; daughter, Geraldine Texeira of Honolulu; brothers, Ray Calma of Waipahu, Oahu, Ernesto (Norma) Calma of Kingman, Ariz., and Albert (Lisa) Calma of Fort Mohave, Arizona; sisters, Lillian Hasselman of Mililani, Oahu, Cathy Cox of Ewa Beach, Oahu, and Rose Calma Shleser of Waimanalu, Oahu; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Bonnie Lynn Toki

Bonnie Lynn Toki, 78, of Hilo died April 4 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Mountain View. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Service at 10 a.m. Survived by companion, Eugenio Arizo of Hilo; sons, Barry L. Toki of Wahiawa, Oahu, Jayson Toki, and Justin Tomas of Honolulu; brothers, Clifford Cosbodillo of Washington and William Cosbodillo of Kona; sisters, Jacqueline (Lawrence) Cantero and Donna Hatico of Wahiawa, Oahu; caregivers, Clayton and Cynthia Honma; a granddaughter; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Geraine Momilani Grace Smith

Geraine Momilani Grace Smith, 63, of Ocean View died March 18. Born in Kealakekua, she was a retired front office medical receptionist at Club Rehab in Kainaliu, former administrative assistant for Kona Historical Society, devoted softball fan and co-founder of Medora Old Timer Basketball Tournament. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Kahilu Town Hall, 62-1182 Lindsey Road in Waimea. Service at 10 a.m. Lunch to follow. Survived by husband, Robert Smith Sr. of Ocean View; son, Robert Smith Jr; brother, Gregorio (Vyonne) Alip Jr. of Waimea; sisters, Gloria Alip of Honolulu, Gladys Alip of Waimea and Garilyn Alip of Honolulu; brothers-in-law, Gale (Janet) Smith and Tom (Sandy) Smith of Indiana; sisters, Sally Brock of Indiana and Beth (Dan) Harvey of Wisconsin; a granddaughter; cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, great grandnieces and nephews.
