Harold Kamoili Kalama, 79, of Keaau died April 11 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired electrician, member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 595, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and avid waterman and angler who paddled for Hui o Ke Kai and Kaimanu Outrigger Canoe Clubs, completed in the Moloka‘i Hoe and sailed solo from San Pedro, Calif., to Hilo and Hilo to Nuku Hiwa in the Marquesa Islands. Celebration of life and scattering of ashes at a later date.
