During the week of Feb. 12-18, Hawaii Island police arrested 15 motorists for DUI.
One of the drivers was involved in a traffic accident. One was younger than 21.
The numbers of arrests by district were: Kona, six; Hilo, five; Puna, three; and North Kohala, one.
So far this year, there have been 139 DUI arrests compared to 143 during the same period last year, a decrease of 2.8%.
There have been 121 major crashes so far this year, compared to 131 during the same time last year, a decrease of 7.6%.
To date, there have five official traffic fatalities, compared to four fatalities for the same time last year, an increase of 25%.
DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue islandwide, police said.
