Abraham Moses
Abraham Kanaloa Carter Moses, Jr., 61, of Hilo, died May 8, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu on December 1, 1960, he was a warehouse manager for Garden Exchange. He was the owner of Abe Services, was a commercial fisherman for Hanalike of Napo’opo’o and a member of the Hawaii National Guard. Visitation at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Honaunau Rodeo Grounds followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire. He is survived by his daughters, Jazman (Wilfred) Haalilio, Jr., of Honaunau, Ariel Moses of Honaunau, Monique Moses of Honaunau; sons, Adam (Haunani Hashimoto) Moses of Honaunau, Kahiau Medeiros of Ka’u; brothers, Van Clint Moses of Waianae, Cid (Daniette) Moses of Nanakuli, Derrick Moses of Honaunau and Scott (Haunani Quizon) Moses of Waianae, 18 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Llewelyn Kauwe
Llewelyn Alana Kauwe, 67, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, passed away on November 16, 2023 at his residence. He worked as a general contractor and served as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by wife, Cheryl Kauwe; children, Christie (Jody) Jennings, Jenny (Earl Hidie) Gaspar, Matthew (Emily) Kauwe, Heather (Bronson) Miner; nine grandchildren; and mother, Shirley Kauwe; sisters, Renee (Henry) Dickenson, Leandra Oandasan, Danielle (John) Correa; and extended family. Lenny will be honored on December 16, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kealakekua Meetinghouse (81-6493 Mamalahoa Hwy, Kealakekua, HI). Norman Iha
Norman Terumi Iha, 69, of Hilo died on Nov. 8 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a food purchasing manager at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and member of the Tsunami Golf Club and Waiakea Pirates. Private services. Elizabeth Lee
Mrs. Elizabeth Kaleimomi Lee, age 102, of Waipahu, Hawaii (formerly of Hilo), died November 13, 2023 in Waipahu, Hawaii. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 30, 1921 and retired from the Kahala Hilton Hotel on Oahu. Graveside committal service and burial will be held at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo, Hawaii on December 7, 2023 (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. She is survived by sons, Chadwick (Shirlene Tyau) Lee of Waipahu and Dale Craig (Gloria) Lee of Mountain View, Hawaii; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Irene Makaaeae Gomes, 93, of Hilo, died Nov. 10 at home. She was born in Pepeekeo and was a school cafeteria cook with the State of Hawaii, Department of Education and was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 6) at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Prayer service at 6 p.m. Committal service 9 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 7) at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 pavilion. Casual attire. Herbert “Joe” Joseph Alves, Jr., 65, of Hilo, died November 4, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on August 9, 1958 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
