West Side Eagles fundraisers announced

Kailua-Kona’s star 11-under football team, the West Side Eagles, officially announced their upcoming fundraisers for proceeds for their voyage to the National Pop Warner Championships in Orlando, Fla., in early December.

The Eagles will host a car wash at Aloha Kona Kia every Saturday in November from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a tournament at Makalei Golf Club on Nov. 26.

The team additionally launched a QR code that leads to a PayPal webpage for donations. Any help is appreciated. Additional information can be found in the fundraisers’ graphics.

Waimea native commits to K-State

Eastern Arizona College righ-hand pitcher and Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i alum Jonah Reich commited to Kansas State recently.

The 2022 KSH graduate and Waimea native played one season for the Monsters, appearing in nine games and posting a 2-1 record to go along with a 5.59 earned-run average and 12 strikouts.

For his sophomore season, Reich now joins a Big-12 program that finished 35-24 overall and fifth in their conference in 2023. He will officially sign his letter of intent next week.
