BIIF cross country wraps up regular season

Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) boys and girls cross country wrapped up regular season racing with one final meet Saturday morning at Kea‘au. Waiakea won both the boys and girls races, posting average 5k times of 16:46.17 (22 points) and 21:38.99 (48 points), respectively. Hawaii Prep was the top west-side team finisher in the boys race, placing No. 2 with 106 points. Konawaena’s Isaac Keanaaina was the top boys west-side individual runner, placing fifth with a time of 17:06.32. On the girls side, HPA was also the top west-side team with an average time of 22:04.51 and tallying 61 points. Kealakehe’s Elisa Childers was the top west-side runner, placing second and finishing in 19:48.93. The Central Pacific Bank/BIIF Cross Country Championships will be held 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Hawaii Prep.
