Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library registration open for next first Saturday community art class
WAIMEA, Island of Hawaii—Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library of the Hawaii State Public Library System opens registration on Fri., Sept. 1, for the next First Saturday Community Art Class, Watercolor Halloween, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Sat., Oct. 7. The free First Saturday Community Art Classes are presented in partnership with the Waimea Arts Council.
Waimea Arts Council artist Lorrie Taylor will lead the class for beginning artists ages 6+. Students will work on watercolor techniques and learn about dropping in color, blending, and lifting, while creating a glowing pumpkin painting.
Classes are held in the library meeting room, with all supplies provided by the Waimea Arts Council. Class size is limited and advance registration at the library for each class is required. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
To register, or for more information, call 808-887-6067. The Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
