Louis Cho Jr.

Louis Sumani Cho, Jr., 78, of Honaunau, Hawaii died July 14, 2022 at his residence. Born in Kealakekua, Hawaii on December 19, 1943, he was a retired maintenance man with Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park; a member of the National Guard and a U.S. Army veteran. Mass will begin at 7:45 a.m. June 28, 2023 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau; followed by celebration of life at Honaunau Beach lot across the boat ramp. The family requests casual attire. He is survived by his daughter, Candace Napuaalohapoinaole (Eric) Kaneshiro of Aiea, Oahu; sister, Shirley Kauhaihao of Honaunau, and Charlotte (Robert) Johnson of Prescott Valley, AZ.; brother, Jerry (Daine) Cho of Oahu; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; one uncle. Janet Tomita

Janet Itsuko Tomita, age 91, of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away on March 15, 2023 in the Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation &Nursing Center. She was born in Wailuku, Maui on September 14, 1931 and retired from the State of Hawaii as an Accounting Clerk. Visitation will be held at Iao United Church of Christ in Wailuku, Maui on June 24, 2023 from 9 to 10 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings). She is survived by husband, John Tomita of Hilo; son, Scot (Lillian “Honey Girl” Zimmerman) Tomita of Hilo; sister, Dorothy Komoda of Honolulu; five granddaughters; one great-grandson; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Aaliyah Heu-Mathieu

Aaliyah Heu-Mathieu, 10, of Ewa Beach, passed away on April 9, 2023 at Queens West Hospital. She was born May 8, 2012 in Hilo. She is survived by parents, Adam Mathieu and Amber Mathieu; brothers Adam Heu-Mathieu, Amillo Heu-Mathieu, Ashton Heu-Mathieu; sister, Analyn Rose Heu-Mathieu; grandparents, Diana Cacal, Donald Mathieu, William Heu and Daisy Heu. Services will be held on June 16, 2023, Visitation 10 a.m., Service 11 am, at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.

Caleb Parazette

Caleb Morgan Parazette, 55, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii died May 23, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Santa Barbara, California, he was a screenwriter, with two short films produced. He was a massage therapist and worked at many world-class resorts and spas, most recently the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. Jason Pabingwit

Jason Kalamalani Pabingwit, 64, of Hilo, died May 27 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Wahiawa and was a power mower operator with the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks &Recreation, a carpenter in Arizona and a member of the Ainaola Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Tuesday June 20 at the Hilo Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. He is survived by wife, Ma Lourdes Pabingwit of Hilo; son, Jordan (Emily) Pabingwit of Arizona; step-son, Aaron John Zaulda of Hilo; mother, Violet Leilani Ortiz of Coos Bay, Ore.; sisters, April Beam of Aiea and Le’Ann Pabingwit of Ocean View; step-brothers, Dewey Pabingwit of North Carolina and Teddy (Michelle) Pabingwit of Hilo; three granddaughters, numerous nieces and nephews. William Medeiros

William Bernard Medeiros, 74, of Keaau died June 2 at his home. Born in Ookala, he was a retired butcher for Kulana Foods and Miko Meats, member of Pig Hunters of Hawaii and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Private services. Survived by wife, Lynn Medeiros of Keaau; children, Jody Lynn Silva of Keaau, Rachel (Jennifer) Lynn Reno-Medeiros of Keaau, Jason (Chrispher) William Medeiros of Livermore, California; sister, Junelle (Robert) Blas of Keaau; seven grandchildren.
