John Venrick
John Emmerson Venrick, 58, of Puna, passed away on January 14, 2023. Born November 1, 1964, he was a Fishery Observationalist with Dutch Harbor. He is survived by fiancé, Cindy Mata, of Pahoa; brother, James Venrick of Combine, Tx; in addition to other beloved family members. William Keb
William J. Keb, 86, of Honoka’a, passed away on February 23, 2023 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born January 21, 1937 in Honolulu, he was a local woodworker and proprietor of Kamaaina Wood Inc. He is survived by his wife, Lois J. Keb; son, John Quenton Gandall, of Hilo; in addition to 1 grandchild and 2 great-grandchildren. Theodore Janson
Theodore Andrew Janson, 76, of Kapaau, Hawaii passed away on March 4, 2023 in Kohala. He was born on December 14, 1946, in South River, New Jersey. He was an internationally well-known and respected painter, and a passionate musician and social activist. He is survived by spouse Rebecca Jankowski, Son, Tito Jankowski (Shova Ale Magar) of San Mateo, CA, twin sister, Theodora Janson of Owen Sound, Canada, brother, Jonathan Janson (Giovanna) of Rome, Italy. The family invites you to attend a Mass on Saturday June 24th at the Sacred Heart Parish in Hawi. Visitation and fellowship will be held at 9 a.m. The service will be at 10 a.m.. Casual, Hawaiian, or dressy clothes, but not beachwear. At noon that day, there will be a potluck from noon until 2 p.m. at the Kohala Village HUB Barn. Fusao Sugai, 89, of Honalo, Hawaii died May 22, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honalo, Hawaii on June 21, 1933, he was a retired coffee, macadamia nut and vegetable farmer and a member of Honalo #1 Kumiai, Daifukuji Soto Mission, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association, Hiroshima Kenjinkai, Kona Young Farmers, DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter 7, and a retired U.S. Army combat veteran. He is survived by his wife, Hilda (Omoto) Sugai of Honalo; sons, Wesley (Patricia) Sugai, Lee (Mimi) Sugai, and daughter, Kellie (Curtis) Sugai-Dahl, all of Kona; sister, Misao (Seiji) Yonemori of Hilo; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchldren; numeorus nieces and nephews.
