Wise added to All-BIIF water polo honorable mentions
Kamehameha Schools – Hawaii sophomore water polo player Oliliu Wise was added to the 2023 All-BIIF Honorable Mention list Thursday morning.
Wise was one of the Warriors’ top scorers, and her performance at the HHSAA State tournament landed her at No. 22 on ScoringLive’s rankings.
She scored a season high of five goals against Waiakea High School during the BIIF playoffs, and notched a haul to lead the Warriors during their 8-4 victory over Mililani High School during the state tourney.
Lee picked up by UH-Manoa after BIWBA tourney
Island School baseball player Kameron Lee accepted an offer to play for the Rainbow Warriors, which was presented to him following his performance at Kaha Wong’s Big Island Wood Bat Academy Memorial Day Tournament.
Lee pitched seven innings for Hawaii Elite during a game against BIWBA — striking out eight, surrendering a run and recording a 92 mph pitch.
Sunrise Athletics obstacle run on tap
Sunrise Athletics announced its third annual Run for Fun Obstacle Challenge, which is slated for July 2 at the Bayfront Soccer Fields.
Registration costs $5 and is open to keikis in elementary school or middle school, as well as incoming high school students.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female competitors in each age division.
Eddie Ombac of KBIG FM will emcee the event — which will also feature post-race refreshments and snacks, age group awards for participants, prize giveaways (gift cards, etc.), games, a silent auction, a rummage sale and a concession
Funds will help support the Sunrise Athletics and Services, LLC’s “Pay-It-Forward” programs, along with the Sunrise Sports Foundation for the scholarship fund (coming from the concession, and donations are also welcome).
