The Waimea Education Hui, in partnership with Kahilu Exhibits at Kahilu Theatre, the Royal Order of Kamehameha I Moku o Kohala, Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club, and Na Kalai Wa’a, welcomes our annual Waimea All Schools Art Exhibition.
This year’s exhibition will feature artwork created by students, their educators, their families, and community members embodying an artistic response to the question, “What is your PANA (or wahi-pana)?” The exhibition will open with a pubic reception on Thursday, April 20 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm and will remain on display through May 28, 2023.
The galleries are open and free to the public every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am – 2pm, as well as for ticket holders before and after performances in the theatre, or by appointment. The exhibit can also be accessed through the Virtual Gallery &Exhibit Tours on Kahilu.TV.
Kahilu Exhibits presents solo and thematic group shows and features local and global works of art from both emerging and established visual artists. Educational outreach includes school visits, artist talks, workshops, and publications that encourage the visual arts to be a catalyst for creativity and growth.
The Exhibition Committee selects artists for solo and group exhibitions, via a proposal and review process, once each year on CaFÉ(callforentry.org). Please join our mailing list to stay informed about our calls for proposals. For information on current exhibitions, call 808-885-6868 or email gallery@kahilutheatre.org.
