Yvonne Chieko Kutsunai, 71, of Hilo, died March 16 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Lanai City and was a bookkeeper with Taketa, Iwata, Hara and Associates, was also the vice president and treasurer of the Elvis Rock A-Hula-Baby Fan Club. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (May 13) at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Urn committal services will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire; no koden (monetary donations). Juan Bartolome Agpaoa, 88, of Keaau, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center, Born on June 12, 1934, in Loaog City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines; he was a Papaya Farmer and owner. He also was a member of the First Born Temple Church in Hilo. Helen Baring, 90, of Keaau, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at home. She was born on December 18, 1932 in Kapoho, Hawaii. She was a retired custodian for Keaau Elementary School and Keaau Middle School. Stanton Karl Lancaster, 72 of Hilo died April 1, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oahu, he was a retired plumber, served in the U.S. Marine Corp, U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. A celebration of life will be held at First United Protestant church in Hilo on May 20, visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m., service at 10:00 a.m. Casual attire; leis welcome. Dorothy Ku’ulei Badua, 78, of Kukuihaele, died on Monday, April 3, 2023 at home. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired Community Development Coordinator for the Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center, former president of Ka Hui Kapa Apana o Waimea-Hawaiian quilt club, former co-owner of Upcountry Quilters, owner of Ku’ulei’s Cutting and Basting Service and spearheaded several volunteer community projects for the Honokaa, Kukuihaele and Waipio areas. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday (May 25, 2023) at Kahilu Town Hall, Waimea; Service at 11 a.m. Casual and aloha attire, no wreaths.
