Kona Aerials Gymnastics Club seeks the public’s support
Since 1989, the Kona Aerials Gymnastics Club has been an important part of our community. Serving an average of 1500-2000 youth each year, this organization has helped countless children and teenagers develop their physical abilities, build self-confidence, and form lifelong friendships. However, the club now faces a critical moment as it seeks to secure a Special Use Permit for its facility.
The hearing for Kona Aerials Special Use Permit #- 21-0002277 will take place at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Council Chambers, Building A 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i at 9:30 am on Friday May 19, 2023. This is an important
opportunity for our community to support a vital organization that has positively impacted the lives of so many young people. In recent years, Kona has faced a crisis with its youth. Vaping, drugs, and alcohol are running rampant, and addiction does not discriminate. Our community is lacking in programs and opportunities for children and youth. However, the Kona Aerials Gymnastics Club has been a beacon of hope for many local families, providing a safe and healthy environment for young people to grow and thrive.
As concerned citizens, we must vocalize our support for this special use permit. Whether through written or verbal testimony, we can make a difference in the lives of our youth. By supporting the Kona Aerials Gymnastics Club, we can help ensure that our community continues to have access to important programs and services that promote physical fitness, mental wellness, and social connectionThe Kona Aerials Gymnastics Club has served our community for over 30 years. Let us come together to support this valuable organization and the young people who benefit from its programs. Show your support by attending the hearing on May 19th, or by submitting a testimony in favor of the special use permit. Let us work together to create a brighter future for our youth and our community.
Community members can share written support of the Special Use Permit 21-000227 by submitting written testimony to The County of Hawaii/Leeward Planning Commission 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720
