Waikoloa student receives honors

Waikoloa Resident Jenna Shotwell was inducted Into Epsilon Kappa Epsilon Honor Society at Biola University. She is one of 33 students selected for membership into Biola University’s Epsilon Kappa Epsilon (EKE), the university’s honors baccalaureate society. Students who achieved the designation will be recognized at Biola University’s Spring 2023 graduation ceremony. The honors society is exclusively offered by invitation only, by which students are selected by department faculty. The selection criteria are based upon academic achievement, with students earning a GPA of at least 3.75, Christian character and individual contributions to the university and community. Only 5% of the graduating class are invited into the society.

students will be recognized for their induction into EKE at Biola’s Spring 2023 commencement ceremony as well as at an induction ceremony on May 3.

“Induction into the highly selective Epsilon Kappa Epsilon Honor Society is an indication of distinguished scholastic achievement, faithful service and Christian character,” said Dr. Cherry McCabe, associate provost for curriculum and instruction. “These students exemplify the values of Biola University and often go on to positions of influence to be used by God around the world. We are proud of each and every student.”
