Estelita Baligad

Estelita Estrella Baligad, 84, of Hilo, passed away on April 20, 2023 in Hilo, born on January 14, 1934, in Manila, Philippines; she was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; Celebration of Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Rosemarie Muller

Rosemarie Muller, 74 of Keaau, Hawaii and previously Center Moriches, NY, died February 24, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on October 4, 1948, in Manhattan, NY, she was a retired Laboratory Technician Supervisor. A celebration of life service is planned for June 2023. Condolences at HomelaniMemorialPark.com. Robert Rousseau

Robert Steven Rousseau, 71, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii died February 24, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 17, 1951 in Huntsville, Alabama, he was an owner of a sporting goods and trophy shop in Alabama. He is survived by his sister, Karen Moore of Adrmore, TN. and brother, Steven (Sara) Ray of Huntsville, Alabama. A celebration of life will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 21, 2023 at VFW Post 12122 located at 74-5543 Kaiwi St., Suite 185A in the old industrial area in Kailua-Kona. Dayson Endo-Wong

Dayson Hong Kin Kamalei’oka’ainaahekane’okekai Endo-Wong, 24, of Hilo, died March 29, 2023, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he worked as a cook. Private services to be held. He is survived by mother, Daysha (Ray) Miyazono of Pahoa; brothers, John Miyazono of Las Vegas, Colton Miyazono and Landon Miyazono of Pahoa; sister, Peyton Miyazono of Pahoa; daughters, Ava-Sky Llanes-Wong and Teitiaroa Kapeliela; grandparents, Stephen and Francine Morse of Hilo; numerous cousins and friends. Sadao Okada

Sadao Okada, age 97, of Hilo, Hawaii, died April 4, 2023 in the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kainaliu, Kona, Hawaii on July 11, 1925 and retired from the Hilo Gas Company as a Supervisor. He was a United States Army veteran and member of the Kaumana Drive Baptist Church and Ainako Association Private services were held. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings). Candido Castaneda

Candido Pescador Castaneda, 85, of Naalehu, Passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Life Care Center of Hilo, he was born on February 2, 1938, in Taguiporo Bantay, Ilocos Sur, Philippines; he was a Planting Machine Crewmen, and he also was a member of the Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may call on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Naalehu Sacred Catholic Church, Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m.; Celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Naalehu County Cemetery He is survived by daughters, Charito McFadden of Waiohinu and Elena (Barry) Buyuan of Pahala; sons, Benito (Veronica) Castaneda of Waiohinu, Efren Castaneda and Robin Castaneda of Naalehu; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Kei Leyson

Kei Leyson, 62, of Westfield, Ind., and formerly of Hilo, died April 13 at home. He was born in Hilo and was a retired field service engineer in the medical technology industry and was also a Veteran of the US Navy. Committal services noon May 2 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 pavilion. Casual attire. He is survived by daughters, Natia Jhenete Leyson of Carmel, Ind. and Jontelle Elika Leyson-Smith of Seattle, Wash.; son, Jonathan Robert Leyson of Seattle, Washington, sisters, Lafawn Mayeda and Cynthia Carvalho; brothers, Riley Leyson, Gregory Leyson, Kelly Leyson, Alfred Dela Cruz, Ronald Dela Cruz and Rodney Dela Cruz; one granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.

Rickey Barnett,

Rickey Dale Barnett, 75, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii died April 19, 2023 at his residence. Born in Dekalb County Missouri on May 12, 1947, he was a police sergeant for the city of Tempe, Arizona, and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Susan Barnett of Kailua Kona and sister, Beckie (Al) Garcia of California.
