New driveway
Waimea Outdoor Circle is pleased to announce the long anticipated paved driveway into the Waimea Nature Park, Ulu La‘au, is in progress.
Goodfellow Bros. and Alii Builders have teamed up, and the work began three weeks ago. We anticipate the concrete pouring will begin this week.
Meanwhile the park is open to walk-ins, but vehicular traffic is prohibited. You may park on the Canada France Hawaii telescope offices lawn or in the Carter Professional parking lot.
The funds for this improvement were obtained from the state by Sen. Lorraine Inouye, for which we are most thankful.
We know all park users will appreciate this new dust-free concrete driveway that will enhance the beauty and usefulness of this piece of serenity in the heart of Waimea.

Simple solution to nene eating at cat feeding stations: Cover the box with wire, and put a couple cat doors in it.
Nene don’t belong in the city, by cars or buildings, but if they are there, there are easy, ethical ways to address this.
We need to do more to support trap-neuter-release colony cat caretakers and work together when something might need attention.
