All BIIF boys volleyball playoff games, Division I and II, will begin at 6 p.m.
Individual Tennis BIIF playoffs scheduled
Brackets have been released for the BIIF Individual Tennis playoffs, which will begin today at the Mauna Kea tennis courts in Waimea.
The first rounds of singles will start today at 9 a.m. for the girls and 11:30 a.m. for the boys.
For both genders, semifinals will be played Friday morning and the Championship will take place Saturday morning.
The No. 1 girls individuals seed is Kaylee Yamada and No.2 is Kiora Kunimoto.
For the boys, Iori Furuhata is seeded No.1 and No. 2 is Andrew Moe.
Doubles playoffs will also start today for boys and girls, and will conclude with the Championship Saturday morning.
Tennis team playoffs will begin a week from today.
Volleyball season draws to a close
Just two regular season matches remain in BIIF boys volleyball, both of which are Division I.
On Monday, Ka‘u High School and Ka ‘Umeke Charter played the final regular season Division II match.
The Trojans swept Ka ‘Umeke by set scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-16.
Ka‘u will enter the BIIF DII playoffs in the No.5 seed, and will host No.8 Honoka‘a High School at 6 p.m. Thursday for Round 1 of playoffs. If the Trojans win, they will travel Saturday to face No.4 Kohala High School.
In Division I play, Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i played away at Kea‘au High School on Monday, and won 3-1.
The Warriors dominated the first set 25-11 before the Cougars bounced back with a 25-21 second set win.
KSH closed out with two more set wins of 25-17 and 25-14.
The Warriors were led by Kullen Pua, who recorded a massive outing — notching 18 kills, five aces and five digs. Kahili Paleka contributed nine kills and three digs for KSH, and teammate Nauhi Liwis noted seven kills and two digs. Makena Aiona-Agra led the Warriors’ back line with seven digs.
KSH and Kea‘au will wrap up their regular seasons tonight at 6 p.m. on the Warriors’ home turf.
Division I BIIF playoffs will begin at 6 p.m.on Monday.
Now 10-0, KSH will enter as the No.1 seed and host No.4 Kealakehe High School (2-9). At the same time, No.2 Hilo High School (9-3) will host No.3 Waiakea (5-5).
The winners of each match will travel Wednesday to the Championship at Konawaena High School.
