Kealakehe Intermediate School hosted an educational Career Day for students on Friday, March 10th.
The event took place outside on the lawn and included approximately twenty presentation booths per session from various career pathways including Agricultural Design, Industrial & Engineering Technology, Arts & Communication, Business, Health Services, Natural Resources and Public & Human Services. Kealakehe High School provided engaging experiences for the students through their JROTC, Automotive and Athletics department representatives.
Informational and “hands on” activities were provided by many of the presenters including The Marine Mammal Center – Ke Kai Ola, ACE Hardware Kailua Kona, County of Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Blue Ocean Mariculture, UH Manoa- College of Engineering, Kokua Roofing, District Council 50, PFS Investments Inc. (Primerica), Tigerfly Studios, West Hawai’i Department of Education and several others.
Students participated in an activity called “Career Fair Bingo” and raffle prizes were given throughout the event. Career Fairs are an excellent way to engage students in long term goal planning which encourages educational excellence. Kealakehe Intermediate School would like to thank all of the people who helped to make this year’s Career Fair a success.
