Carmelita “Dutchie” Kina’u Kapu Saffery, 83, of Mountain View died Feb. 3, 2023, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired florist and former executive secretary to the Late Hiram Fong. Susan Pamela Kidder, 69, of Kealakekua, died on Jan. 22, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Canton, Ohio on March 20, 1953, she was a cashier at the former Kamigaki Market and a member of the Kona Choral Society and assisted at Christ Church Episcopal. She is survived by her son, David (Leinee) Kidder of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren; sisters, Penny Kidder of North Canton, Ohio, Mary (Rick) Lloyd of Massillon, Ohio, Polly (Ren) Patterson of Nt.
