Roger Harrison

Roger S. Harrison, 79, of Waikoloa Village, died Dec. 31, 2022. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. Private services will be held at a later date. He is survived by wife, Chris; daughters; three grandchildren; and two sisters. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Prudencio Dela Cruz Sr.

Prudencio “Dencio” Duldulao Dela Cruz Sr., 88, of Hilo died Dec. 20, 2022, at home. Born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked in the boiling house and pollution control section of the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and was co-owner of the former Dela Cruz Shave Ice. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Feb. 11, at Dodo Mortuary chapel; memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section at noon. He is survived by wife, Erlinda Esperon Dela Cruz of Hilo; sons, Prudencio (Terri) Dela Cruz Jr. of Honolulu; Dan Dela Cruz of Las Vegas; Louisber (Kenoalani) Dela Cruz of Hilo; daughter Anna-Belle (Paul) Kutsunai of Maui; sisters, Clarita Dela Cruz of Maui and Macrina Vinoya of Laoag City, Philippines; five grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Yaeko Hamada

Yaeko “Nancy” Hamada, 91, of Keaau, died Jan. 13, 2023, at home. Born in Ola’a, she was a homemaker and member of the Hilo Iesu No Mitama Kyokai. Friends may call at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 18 for a celebration of life at the family residence, 15-1369 23rd Ave., Keaau, HI. Family requests casual attire be worn.
