Leonard Kalua’u Sr.
Leonard Ainahau Kalua’u Sr., 67, of Pahoa, died Nov. 8, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in North Kona and was a retired heavy equipment operator with Jas W. Glover. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Dec. 23 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation also 8-10 a.m. Dec. 24 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. She is survived by companion, Jewel Kaapana of Pahoa; sons, Leonard (Edalaine) Kalua’u Jr. of Mountain View and Nicholas Kalua’u of Hilo; daughters, Tammy (Claude) Williams of Tulsa, Okla. And Joanne Williams of Kona; brothers, John Kalua’u III, Malcolm Kalua’u and Ruben Kalua’u, all of Ka’u; sisters, Lorrie (Sam) Baker of Honokaa and Cheryl Dougherty of Hilo; hanai sister, Triva Alves of Ka’u; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John William Lucas, 65, of Hilo, died Nov. 25, 2022, at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired sales representative. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Dec. 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Mauna Kea Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn. Patricia Yukiko Wong, 82, of Kailua-Kona and formerly of Hilo died Oct. 6, 2022, at the Maunalani Rehab Center on Oahu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired teacher at Kaumana Elementary School.
