Kona celebrates the holidays
Hundreds of people lined the streets Saturday evening for the 36th annual Kailua-Kona Community Christmas Parade.
Hundreds of people lined the streets Saturday evening for the 36th annual Kailua-Kona Community Christmas Parade.
Floats, bands, lighted trucks and of course Santa delighted the crowd with keiki eagerly accepting candy from parade participants. It was the first time since 2019 that the parade was held in its full format.
Holiday events continue today in Kailua Village. Kokua Kailua Village monthly village stroll will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. along Alii Drive. As a gift to the community, the Kailua Village Business Improvement District presents a free Kailua Kalikimaka Holiday Concert from 4 to 5 p.m. featuring the Grammy Award winning Kalani Pe’a on center stage.
The holiday fun continues with the seventh annual Lighted Boat Parade at 6 p.m. Kona’s fleet will put on a jovial show in Kailua Bay.
