Hundreds of holiday revelers lined the streets of Waimea for the 62nd annual Waimea Christmas Twilight Parade held Saturday evening.
Themed “He Kalikimaka Hooli Keiki” or “A Children’s Christmas Cheer,” the festive event featured dozens of lighted trucks and floats that meandered throughout Waimea town. Grand marshal was Ku Kahakalau with the event honoring community icon and trucker Mel Paio.
During the event, attendees also had the opportunity to make donations to the nonprofit Big Island Giving Tree, which will assist families at 14 different complexes around Hawaii Island this holiday season.
