Roxana Uchima

Roxana Mutsuko Uchima, 65, of Hilo, died Oct. 24, 2022 at her residence. Born Jan. 11, 1957, in Los Angeles, she was the co-owner of Affordable Catering &Okazuya in Hilo, previously worked as a pharmacy technician at Longs Drugs and was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross in Hilo. Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary chapel on Dec. 3 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is requested. She is survived by husband, Lester Uchima of Hilo; son, Domonick Sean (Jolene Velez) Uchima of Keaau; daughter, Kristen Marie (Jacob) Doolittle of Hilo; brother, Glenn Muramoto of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother-in-law, Edward Wallace of California; six grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. Francisca Delo Santos

Francisca Abara Delo Santos, 101, of Captain Cook, died Nov. 13, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Oct. 4, 1921, she was a housekeeper at the former Kona Hilton Hotel, long-time treasurer of the Ilocano Ancestry Club and an active member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and a coffee farmer. Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. Nov. 26 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau; Mass will begin at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome. She is survived by her son, Joey Delo Santos of Captain Cook; daughter, Charisee (Pampilo) Berganos of New York; sister, Margartia Medina of Laog, Philippines; one grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Allison Castro

Allison Maria Castro, 28, died Aug. 19, 2022 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was a 2012 graduate of Kealakehe High School. A celebration of life will be held on Dec. 4 at Old Airport, Makaeo Events Pavilion, in Kailua-Kona. Time to be announced. She is survived by mother, Michelle Tomas of Kailua-Kona; step-father, Shayne Tomas of Holualoa; brothers, Mark Stewart of Las Vegas, Shawn Tomas and Kaleo Tomas of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Cheri May of Austin, Texas, Renee (Jason) HK LeBlond; nephew, Ramius LeBlond, of Salem, Oregon; biological paternal grandparents, Maria and George Morfogenis of Cary, North Carolina; uncles Kawika Singson and Kapena (Sheila) Singson, Kailua-Kona; cousin, Keahi Singson of Oahu.; grandfather, Duane Sherman of Ocean View, and a many other hanai Aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Constance Riley

Constance Anne Riley, 89, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 31, 2022 in Kealakekua. Born Aug, 4, 1933, in St. Petersburg, Florida, she was a seventh grade science teacher at Jefferson Intermediate. She is survived by sons, David (Betty) Riley of Midland, Michigan; Steven (Maria) Riley of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter Barbara (Nakoa Nelson-Riley) Riley of Kailua-Kona; sister Barbara Hammack of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Walter Yamachika

Walter Toshio Yamachika, 84, of Hilo, died Nov. 6, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a partner of THY and Associates Inc. Services were held. No flowers or monetary gifts. He is survived by spouse, Aileen Yamachika of Hilo; son, John Yamachika of Honolulu; daughter, Walleen Yamachika of Las Vegas; and two granchildren. Arrangements by Homelani Cremation Services.
