Jonnie Davis

Jonnie Lee Davis, 60, of Hilo died Sept. 23, 2022. She was born on Oahu.

A celebration of life will be held in January 2023 in Hilo.

She is survived by sons, Durrell Davis and Alika Carriaga; daughter, Thomisha (Gordon) Ponce; step-son Antonio Davis; brothers, Mariano (Darlene) Carriaga Jr., Carl (Pua) Carriaga, Melvin Carter, Francis (Rochelle) Carter, William (Chastity) Henderson, and Robert (Tamara) Henderson; sisters, Esther Lamar, and Denise Henderson; eight grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and hanai children.

Abraham Kihe III

Abraham Wailama Kihe III, 56, of Waimea, died Sept. 26, 2022, at his residence. Born in Honokaa, he was a heavy equipment operator with Isemoto Contracting Co. Ltd., and was also a member of the Kawaihae Canoe Club, Local Union III, Ka Hea O Ka ‘Ahiu Hunting Club, ‘Imiola Congregational Church, and served in the U.S. Army.

Celebration of life and visitation 9-10 a.m. Oct. 29 at Rim Ranch, Mahiki (Mud Lane), Waimea. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire (jacket for cold weather).

He is survived by wife, Piʻikea Kihe of Waimea; sons, Joshua Kihe of Hilo and Waylon Kihe of Kawaihae; daughters, Kau’i Kihe of Waimea and Sanoe Kihe of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter, Tomaya Merck-Pua of Kohala; mother, Merline Kihe of Waimea; sisters, Tina Kihe of Las Vegas, Nani Kihe and Emily (Edward) Kawamoto of Waimea; eight grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ronald Manuel

Ronald E. Manuel, 76, of Hawaiian Ocean View Estates and formerly of Waipahu, Oahu, died Aug. 24, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paauilo, he worked, and retired from Tokunaga Masonry and was a member of The Local 1, I.U.B.A.C Stone Masons Union.

His life was celebrated on Oct. 8.

He is survived by daughter, Charla Manuel; brothers, Richard Manuel, Freddy Manuel, Leabert Manuel, and Daniel (Sandra) Manuel; sisters Linda (Andy) Batino and Dolly Pagan; and nieces and nephews.

Frank Stallard

Frank “Uncle Frank” Allen Stallard, 87, of Pahoa, died Oct. 9, 2022 at his Leilani Estates residence. Born in Clinchko, Virginia, he was an ironworker in Alaska.

A potluck celebration of life will be held at Makekau Point in Opihikau on Oct. 30 at 2-4 p.m. Contact Lori Baker for further details.

He is survived by daughters, Teresa Swartz of Seward, Alaska, Stephanie (Rod)Richards of Beaverton, Oregon, and Cassandra (William) Cardoza of Scappoose, Oregon; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
