Jane Ikeda
Jane Chieko Ikeda, 88 of Kealakekua, died Sept. 21, 2022 at her residence. Born Dec. 17, 1933, in Wailuku, Maui, she was an elementary school teacher at Konawaena School and a member of HSTA and HGEA.
Private services will be held at a later date. Family requests no koden or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Scott (Juslin) Ikeda of Captain Cook, Kelly (Jean Butteris) Ikeda of Kealakekua, and Jerry (Stephanie) Ikeda of Waikele, Oahu; sister, Ione Muranaka of Fountain Valley, California; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley Nishihara
Stanley Susumu Nishihara, 81, of Hilo died Sept. 26, 2022, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Hilo, he was a retired automotive mechanic at the former Hilo Motors and an avid bowler.
Visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 17 at Dodo Mortuary chapel; memorial service at 3. Casual attire.
He is survived by sons, Glenn (Maria Victoria) Nishihara of Hilo, and Paul Nishihara of Honolulu; grandchildren, Janathan (Maizie) Castaneda of New Mexico, and Justin Castaneda of Hilo; siblings, Shigeko Hirano of Hilo, Royden (Rose) Nishihara of Honolulu, and Ellen (Clifford) Misaka of Torrance, California; sister-in-law, Elaine Nishihara of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Samson Vinuya
Samson Kamowaalii Vinuya, 72, of Ocean View, died Oct. 6, 2022 in Hilo. Born April 25, 1950, in Lahaina, Maui, he worked as a tour guide driver.
He is survived by wife Gwen Vinuya; daughters Linda Vinuya and Annie Vinuya, both of Ocean View; Gwen Vinuya of Washington D.C.; hanai son, Leroy Villaverde of Maui; sister, Elizabeth Lapenia of Huelo, Maui; six grandchildre; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Otsuka
Evelyn Fusayo Otsuka, 92 of Hilo, died Sept. 14, 2022, at private care home. Born in Kapehu, she worked for Keaau Macadamia Nut Company, KKTei Restaurant, Ben Franklin Store, and retired from the state Department of Transportation, Hilo Airport and was a member of the United Public Workers and attended Hilo Church of the Nazarene.
Private Service held. No flowers or koden.
She is survived by son, Harvey Otsuka of Hilo; daughters, Terry Harada and Sandra (Wesley) Takai, all of Hilo, and Arleen (Wayne) Yamasaki of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
