Leningrad Elarionoff
Leningrad Elarionoff, 83, of Waimea died Sept. 11, 2022, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Ka‘u, he was a retired police commander for the Hawaii County Police Department, former Hawaii County Council Member for District 9, member of the Hillside Calvary Church, Kahu Ku Mauna-University of Hawaii, Ke Ala Kahawai O Waimea Streamside Trail, Outdoor Circle, Ulu La’au Waimea Nature Park, and a former member of Island Burial Council, and Board of Water Supply.
A celebration of life will take place from 10 to 3 p.m. Oct. 1 at Ulu La’au Waimea Nature Park (located behind Canada France) in Waimea. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Paula Elarionoff of Waimea; children, Kimberly Kehau (Daniel) Lincoln of Waimea, Grad (Manute’a) Elarionoff of Kona, Raena (Tim) Donahue of Honolulu, Christopher (Jennifer) Simpson of Honolulu; brothers, Samuel (Ann) Elarionoff of Honolulu, and Lancelot (Angie) Elarionoff of Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

Alice Edwards
Alice Marie Edwards, 90, of Hilo died Sept. 11, 2022, at her residence. Born in Fallon, Nevada, she was a homemaker, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ainaola Ward, volunteer for RSVP and the Problem Pregnancy Center.
Visitation from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Hilo Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Kilauea Ave.; funeral service at 6:30. Burial will take place at 9 a.m. Sept. 30 at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Pavilion. Casual attire.
She is survived by daughter, Candice (David Faisca) Kaiawe of Hilo; son, Lewis (Tracy) Edwards of Reno, Nevada; brother, Karry (Gloria) Sutton of New Mexico; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley Miyazono
Shirley Setsuko Miyazono, 82, of Hilo, died Aug. 20, 2022 at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired registered nurse and member of the Hilo Hooganji Mission.
Private services were held. No koden.
She is survived by spouse, Allen Miyazono; daughter, Leanne (Wayne) Yamada; son, Jason Miyazono; brothers, Raymond (Lily) Kan and Roy (Patricia) Kan; sister, May (Michael) Okumoto; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine Baculpo
Josephine “Linda” Baculpo, 90, of Kapaau, died Sept. 13, 2022 at her residence. Born April 16, 1932, in North Kohala, she retired as a concierge and pantry worker at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel Restaurant and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi.
Friends may call on Oct. 8 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi; visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m.; celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery in Kohala.
She is survived by sons, Rodney Baculpo of Hilo and Darren Baculpo of Kohala; daughters, Yvonne (Abel) Amaral of Hawaiian Beaches, Sharlene Baculpo of Hilo, Sheila (Clifford) Fujii of Kohala, Mollie (Vern) Delaries of Kona and Michelle (Adam) Harrison of Kohala ; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes (Collins) Kaholo of Kohala and Audrey (Wendall) Bradley of Honolulu; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
