Darin Asagra
Darin Kalani Asagra, 56, of Hilo, died Sept. 6, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 23, 1965, in San Francisco, he was a delivery driver for NAPA Auto Parts and a tattoo artist.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 at OTEC in Kailua-Kona.
He is survived by children, Kuanalu Kanuha-Asagra of Waimea, Ezekiel Kawelo-Asagra of Hilo, and Kaulana, Kealia and Dana Mary Crisafi-Asagra, all of Captain Cook; brothers, Andy Keola Anderson of Waimea, Aaron Aragon and Curtis Aragon, both of Marysville, Washington, and Joel Keka of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Nora Asagra Aila of Hilo, KaiulaniKanoa of Waimea, Stella Zoller and Davevan Francisco, both of Honolulu, Lurline Pulice of Kauai, Jessie (Mick) Balduaf of Kaneohe, Oahu, Caron Aragon of Kailua-Kona, and Arnes (Nez) Aragon of Mililiani, Oahu; step-children, James Asagra and Ioane Asagra, both of Captain Cook; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gregory “Greg” Kalani Santa Isabel, 53, of Hilo, died Sept. 6, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 19, 1969, in Honolulu, he worked for a towing company.
Friends may call on Oct. 1 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, visitation from 9 to 11 a.m.; celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire Flowers and lei are welcomed.

Robert Barnes
Robert Allan Barnes, 67, of Captain Cook, died Aug. 28, 2022 at his residence. Born Nov. 7, 1953, in California, he was a coffee farmer.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Dawn Barnes of Opihihale; daughter, Loretta (Visut) Buasriyottiya of Honaunau; sons, Curtis (Deborah) Barnes of Australia, and Barney Barnes of Milolii; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Irene Gomes
Irene Adele Gomes, 89, of Hilo, died Sept. 3, 2022 at his residence. Born Jan. 12, 1933 in Ahualoa, she was a retired housekeeper and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Private services held. No koden or monetary donations.
She is survived by daughters, Irene Sagon of Hilo and Charlene (Leonard) DeCambra of Keaau; son, Charles Gomes of Mountain View; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Alejandro Ganir
Alejandro Pedro Agpaoa Ganir, 67, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 4 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born May 20, 1955, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a heavy equipment operator for Kona Country Club, coffee farmer, busboy at the former Kona Lagoon Hotel, a houseman at the former Keauhou Beach Hotel, planter and picker at Kato’s Vegetable Farm, picker for Takashiba’s Mac Nut Farm, busboy at the former Pottery Steakhouse and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona; Mass will begin at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by his wife, Daniela Ganir of Kailua-Kona; sons, Robin (Jean) Ganir of Kapolei, Oahu, and Randie (Stephanie) Ganir of Ewa Beach, Oahu; brothers, Orlando (Nadine) Ganir of Oahu, Bernard (Crispina) Ganir of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Pacita (Respicio) Batangan of Kailua-Kona, Consuelo (Pastor) DeJesus of Waipahu, Oahu, Rosalinda Ganir of Kailua-Kona, and Gina (James) Gray of Oregon; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
