KEALAKEKUA – If Pahoa had any hopes of upsetting Konawaena on their home court Wednesday night, the Wildcats quickly put those hopes to rest.
Konawaena won 18 of the final 19 points in the first set against the Daggers, setting the tone early in a quick sweep – 25-4, 25-13, 25-15 – to earn their sixth consecutive BIIF victory.
The Wildcats (7-1) remain atop the BIIF Division II standings heading into Friday’s contest, which may be their toughest test of the season against Division I leader Kamehameha.
Kamehameha def. Parker 25-3, 25-5, 25-6
The Warriors remained unbeaten in BIIF play, making quick work of the visiting Bulls to earn their 10th BIIF win of the season.
Kamehameha’s Savanna Colliado recorded eight aces in the contest, while Kalea Kuamoo led the team with nine kills.
Friday’s contest of Konawaena at Kamehameha (10-0) is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Kau def. Makua Lani 25-9, 25-8, 25-8
The Trojans kept pace in the BIIF’s Division I race, remaining just a half-game behind the Wildcats. Kau’s Leahi Kaupu led the team with 10 kills and six aces on the night.
Kau (6-1) will head to Waimea on Friday, when they play Hawaii Prep (5-2).
