John Hibscher

John Allan Hibscher, 75, of Kealakekua, died Aug. 26, 2022 at his residence. Born Dec. 20, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was a psychologist.

He is survived by wife, Ludmila Hibscher of Kealakekua.

Blanche Onuma

Blanche Mae Kealohaonalani Onuma, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 4, 2022, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired sales clerk for McInerny’s, Liberty House, Macy’s, and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and Ohana Lehua Bonsai Club.

Private services.

She is survived by children, Dennis Onuma of Phoenix, Dale (Paul) Miyasaki of Hilo, Della (Glenn) Taka of Kealakekua, and Darel (Faye) Onuma of Kaneohe, Oahi; sister, Betty (Raymond) Benevides of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Ritz Hall of Chicago, Illinois, Nancy Hall of Las Vegas, Adelaide Lau and Linda Hall, both of Hilo; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephew.

Dale O’Brien

Dale Kahala O’Brien, 80, of Waimea, died Aug. 12, 2022, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired customer service agent with Hawaiian Airlines.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by daughter, Kymberly (Woody) Child of Waimea; and sister, Puanani Harvey of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Margo Noah

Margo Ku’ulei Ozaki Noah, 71, of Hilo, died Aug. 29 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 16, 1950, in Hilo, she was a former employee of Grayline Hilo and retired from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands East Hawaii.

Private Services held. Family requests no koden or flowers.

She is survived by husband, Steven Naone Noah of Hilo; son, Steven Naone Noah, Jr. of Hilo; stepson, Richard (Shawntay) Yasuda of Honolulu; sisters, Lucia Stewart, Eldena (Keith) Kuroiwa and Nina (Don) Segawa of Hilo; brother, Hinano (Alberta) Matsu Jr. of Hilo; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Fredaann Halualani

Fredaann Kaiwaonalani Halualani, 60, of Hilo, died Aug. 11, 2022 at her residence. Born Aug. 13, 1961, in Hilo, she was a former bakery manager for Sack ‘N Save in Puainako and a former shift manager for Jack in the Box.

She is survived by son, Jeremy Jitchaku of Hilo; daughters, Jaylynn (Kai) Jitchaku of Colorado and Jade Cockett of Honolulu; grandchildren, Jonah Jitchaku of Hilo and Kenzie Jitchaku of Hilo; brother, Richard (Katy) Halualani of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Fredannette (Francisco, Sr.) Leanio of Kailua-Kona, Caroline (Jack, Sr.) Casuga of Milolii, Lisa (Kevin) Kahakua of Kailua-Kona and Coreen (Christopher) Roddie of Washington; aunty, Jennie Halualani of San Mateo, California; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Irene Awong

Irene Ifuko Awong, 91, of Hilo, died Aug. 26, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 1, 1931, in Kapapala, Ka’u, she was retired from Foodland and member of Honomu Henjoji Mission.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Kirk (Corinne) Awong of Hilo, Lance (Wendy) Awong of Kona; Shirley Ann (Charles) Shimizu, Irma Lee Murasaki and Lydia (Randy) Hart of Hilo; sister-in-law, Yasu Sugiyama of Hilo; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; andn nieces, nephews and cousins.
