BIIF Volleyball: Kealakehe takes down Keeau in five sets, Konawaena sweeps Honokaa

The Kealakehe volleyball team notched their first BIIF victory of the season Wednesday, earning a hard-fought, five-set win on the road against Keaau. The 25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 14-25, 17-15 win halted a two-match slide for the Waveriders.

Kealakehe (1-2) and Keaau (1-3) will both compete in the upcoming Kamehameha-Hawaii tournament, set to begin today and run through Saturday.

Konawaena hit the road Wednesday, earning their second win of the season in Honokaa.

The Wildcats swept the Dragons 25-20, 25-10, 25-11, ending a two-match winning streak for Honokaa.

Konawaena (2-1) will host Kohala on Friday, Sept. 9 in their next contest, while Honokaa (3-2) will next play on Wednesday, Sept. 7 against Kau.

Kohala earned their third win of the season Tuesday with a three-set victory over Laupahoehoe. The 25-18, 25-7, 26-24 victory was the first sweep of the year for Kohala, who now carry a two-match winning streak.

The Cowgirls (3-2) will play Konawaena next, when they travel to Kealakekua on Friday, Sept. 9.

Laupahoehoe (0-5) will square off against Makua Lani on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for their next BIIF contest.
