Hawaii Island police have identified the woman involved in a fatal public accident Monday evening in the area of 23rd Avenue and Paradise Drive in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

The woman has been identified as 54-year-old Dorinda Bosetti of Long Beach, Calif.

Officers responded to a 6:43 p.m. report to find Bosetti pinned between her car, a Chevy Malibu sedan, and the gate post to her home.

Bosetti was transported to Hilo Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m.

After the examination of all the evidence collected along with this investigation, the East Hawaii Traffic Enforcement Unit has ruled this incident a coroner’s inquest and not a traffic fatality.

Witnesses are asked to contact Officer Blayne Matsui at (808) 961-2339 or via email Blayne.Matsui@HawaiiCounty.gov. Those who prefer to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
