A Kona jury on Thursday found 26-year-old Koa Kaakimaka guilty of first-degree violation of privacy.

The case stemmed from an incident that occurred on June 12, 2018. Kaakimaka took video of a 15-year-old girl with his cellphone while she was taking a shower. The girl did not consent to the filming.

According to the indictment, the incident took place in North Kohala.

Kaakimaka faces a potential five-year prison term when he’s sentenced on Oct. 17 and will have to register as a sex offender.
