Emmagene Sherman
Emmagene “Emmie” Sherman, 95, of Hilo, died May 19, 2022, at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired owner for Bates Display and Packaging and a Catholic.
She is survived by daughter, Dianne Poirier of Arizona; son, Robert (Chin) Sherman of Hilo; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernaldo Evangelista
Bernaldo Randall Evangelista, 61, of Captain Cook died April 29, 2022, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a music and Japanese language teacher at Kealakehe Intermediate School, director of the West Hawaii County Band, former music director at St. Joseph Catholic Church, former band director at Waiakea Intermediate School, former chorus teacher at CCCTI, former member of the UH-Hilo Repertory Singers, soloist for Kona Choral Society, music director for plays of Aloha Theatre, member of the UH-Hilo Chamber Singers and musician at multiple churches.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. June 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; memorial Mass at 9:30 a.m. Casual attire.
He is survived by mother, Encarnation Evangelista of Ainaloa; siblings, Claudia (Gable) Andrade of Wooster, Ohio, Deborah (Alberto) Evangelista-Rodriguez of Lynnwood, Washington, and Alfred Evangelista of Ainaloa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Elaine Dollnig
Elaine Tsutae Marumoto Dollnig, 102, of Hilo, died May 7, 2022 at a care home. Born Oct. 9, 1919, in Kapapala, Ka’u, she was a retired restaurant manager and had worked for multiple food and beverage establishments.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts.
She is survived by son, Albert Yukio Marumoto of San Francisco; sister-in-law, Patsy Miyoko Marumoto of Honolulu; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Theodore Lindsey
Theodore Kealohapumehana Lindsey, 59, of Waimea, died May 11, 2022 at his residence. Born Feb. 6, 1963, in Hamakua, he was a pipefitter for the County of Hawaii Department of Water Supply and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 4 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea; funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at the Lindsey family cemetery.
